Okay okay okay, Wyrd & Wonder is here and it’s my very first one! So true to form I’ve done very little (read: ‘NO’) planning so I’m gonna have a bunch of fun rambling about some of the books I might get to reading this month. I say might, because mood reading is my M.O. so my air quotes ‘TBR’ is absolutely gonna change at least four times between now and Monday morning. That being said, here’s a bunch of books I might read this month.
THE TETHERED MAGE by Melissa Caruso
FOUNDRYSIDE by Robert Jackson Bennett
THE GOBLIN EMPEROR by Katherine Addison
KINGS OF THE WYLD by Nicholas Eames
THE INVISIBLE LIBRARY by Genevieve Cogman
THE GOLEM AND THE DJINNI by Helene Wecker
THE POPPY WAR by R. F. Kuang
THE RAGE OF DRAGONS by Evan Winter
AGE OF ASSASSINS by R. J. Barker
There’s a few new series starters on here so I’m already getting heart palpitations about that, given the number of unfinished series I already have on the go, but that’s fine, we can deal with that. Maybe? More importantly though, these are all books I already own and just haven’t read yet – we all know about the constant struggle that is trying to relieve the bookshelf of the weight of unread books it’s been groaning under for most of it’s existence. I mean, for me most of my books are in the blessed cloud, but they’re still always staring at me with accusing looks in their eyes every time I open my Kindle.
I’m gonna keep this ‘lil opener short and sweet, but suffice to say I’m looking forward to my first Wyrd & Wonder and, though it seems unlikely, I do intend to do a bit more planning and start thinking on some other cool stuff I can do to take part. And hey, if you’re getting involved, point me at your blog posts and your socials, I’m always super happy to find more fantasy nerds to nerd out with.
While you’re here why not check out some reviews and if you happen to enjoy yourself, follow the blog and you’ll never miss a post!
I love this event, and I’m also going to try to read some way overdue books from my TBR. Kings of the Wyld and Foundryside are fantastic!

I’m so excited for it, I have plans to spend most of my weekend reading all the blog posts so likely will end up not actually reading any of the books I plan to get to haha. Fast forward to the end of the month where I’ve made precisely no progress lol.

Yes to Foundryside, it’s easily in my Top 5 series of all times! I also have The Invisible Library and Age of Assassins in my pile….this month is going to be murder on my Great Series Read Progress lol.

Haha same! So many new series starters, though I’m thinking I might just try and finish the whole Swords and Fire series once I’ve re-read The Tethered Mage. That way I can at least cross one series off the list, even while adding several more on top of it.

Now that I own the complete Book of the Ancestor my Mark Lawrence, I might try to power through this month….we’ll see what happens!

I’m so apprehensive to find out what on Earth happens in The Poppy War! 😶 Can’t wait though, everyone I know has said it’s a great book.

It’s definitely well written and very easy to read, but yes it is brutal. Hope you like it 👍👍

The Tethered Mage was a re-read for me; read it before I started the blog but wanted to read again before reviewing. Enjoyed it just as much the second time round ☺️ Really excited for the rest of the TBR too, I haven’t read any of those before!

I never got to The Unbound Empire. Moving on to my second time with The Defiant Heir next then finally gonna finish the series. I think there’s a reason I have so many unread books on my TBR…
