Morning bookwyrms, just a quick little update about my Wyrd & Wonder project. Regular readers will know I set myself the frankly absurd challenge of posting a book review every day in May as part of the #WyrdAndWonder fantasy blogging event. And because I was personally wanting to read more grimdark books, specifically a grimdark book review every day in May. I obviously had to read a few of these books in advance, otherwise I’d literally have to read and review a book a day for a month, which clearly isn’t feasible. Well I ran out of pre-read books about a week ago and actually have been reading and reviewing a book a day since then and, while a cool little challenge to begin with, it’s starting to stop being fun. Never fear though, I am still planning to put out a review a day for the rest of the month, I’m just gonna deviate from the grimdark theme going forward and likely do a bit of chill reading and reviewing of some fantasy novellas and graphic novels I’ve been wanting to read, as they’re obviously much less time intensive than reading a novel every day.
That’s all folks, just wanted to give a little heads up before I put out a review of a contemporary graphic novel and everyone thinks I’ve lost my mind thinking The Wicked + The Divine is grimdark haha. Look out for today’s review a bit later on and, as always, happy reading 🙂
